Feb. 5, 2026—The Cypress Ranch High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams claimed the District 18-6A titles at the district meets, held Jan. 30-31 at the CFISD Natatorium.  

Feb. 5, 2026—Eight years after Cypress-Fairbanks ISD high school athletic teams were split into two separate districts for the first time in history, CFISD’s two leagues saw changes as a result of the University Interscholastic League’s biennial Reclassification and Realignment on Feb. 2.  

Jan. 30, 2026—The 12th Superintendent’s Fun Run is scheduled for March 28 from 8-11 a.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road) and Towne Lake community. Filled with exciting live entertainment, two course layouts for running or walking, kids’ activities and other family-friendly attractions, the fun run is the largest outdoor fundraising event in the district. Funds raised will directly benefit student scholarships through the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation.

Dec. 19, 2025—District 17-6A football coaches released the All-District Team following the conclusion of each team’s season.

Dec. 15, 2025—More than 150 CFISD high school theatre arts students received superior ratings at the 2025 Texas Thespian Festival, held Nov. 19-22 in Grapevine.  

Dec. 15, 2025—Representatives from Chick-fil-A FM 1960 & Eldridge visited staff members at Cy-Fair High School and Danish Elementary School on Dec. 1 and 9, respectively, to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnerships with the campuses.

Nov. 25, 2025—Cy-Fair High School senior Hannah Bockhahn and Cypress Woods High School junior Lance Jehlik will both be marching with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band in the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Nov.13, 2025—CFISD ended its football season with Cypress Ranch High School claiming the District 16-6A championship and five teams from two districts qualified for UIL bi-district playoffs.

Nov. 4, 2025—The Cy-Fair High School marching band finished among the top 14 Class 6A marching ensembles in Texas at the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championships, after advancing to the Finals Round on Nov. 4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Nov. 3, 2025—The Cy-Fair High School marching band advanced to the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championship Finals Round after preliminary competition on Nov. 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Cy-Fair, along with Bridgeland and Cypress Woods high schools, gave CFISD three state participants for the fifth consecutive year.

Nov. 3, 2025—The Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods and Jersey Village high school volleyball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round.

Oct. 30, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A volleyball seasons ended on Oct. 24 with five CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL Class 6A playoffs.

Oct. 30, 2025—The Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high school marching bands will represent CFISD for the fourth consecutive year at the UIL State Marching Contest after being among the five ensembles selected to advance from the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest, held Oct. 27 at Katy ISD Legacy Stadium.

Oct. 17, 2025—Five CFISD water polo teams advanced past the region quarterfinal round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the Region II-6A and Region III-6A tournaments.

Sept. 30, 2025—Twelve CFISD music ensembles were named winners of The Foundation for Music Education’s 2025 Mark of Excellence and Citation of Excellence awards.

Aug. 18, 2025—The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) named CFISD a 2025 District of Distinction award winner, marking the fifth consecutive year the district has earned the prestigious designation. CFISD is among only 109 districts in the state to earn the award.

July 24, 2025—CFISD was recently named an Exemplary District of Distinction by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA). This is the highest designation awarded to individual schools and districts that are making outstanding contributions to raising the standards for theatre education through achievement, curation of resources, diversity and advocacy for theatre arts.

July 7, 2025—The CFISD athletic department has announced its ticketing procedures for the 2025 varsity football season, with season ticket renewals beginning July 7.

May 28, 2025—Cy-Fair High School senior Ashley Johnson received the University Interscholastic League (UIL) HEB Athletic Scholarship on May 14. Johnson is one of five student athletes in Texas to be awarded with the scholarship.

May 7, 2025—The Cypress Woods High School baseball team defeated Magnolia West in a best-of-three series by the scores of 3-1 and 10-0, respectively, to win the bi-district championship Region II-6A playoffs.

March 5, 2025—The Cy-Fair High School swimming and diving teams won the KHOU Chevy Spotlight Award on Feb. 27 during a ceremony at the campus.

March 4, 2025—More than 125 million sets of eyes were on Cy-Fair High School alumnus Braden Mann and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles as they won Super Bowl LIX, including his mom, Hamilton Middle School teacher Pam Mann, who was right there to see her son become a world champion.

District 16-6A water polo coaches recently released the 2024 All-District 16-6A Water Polo Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

The Bridgeland High School girls’ and boys’ cross country teams won the District 16-6A titles at the Cross Country Championships, held Oct. 11 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. For the Bridgeland boys and girls, this is their sixth and seventh consecutive team championships, respectively. Bridgeland’s cross country programs are currently ranked No. 3 in the state by the Country Coaches Association of Texas.   

Eleven CFISD water polo teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while the girls’ teams from Langham Creek and Cypress Lakes high schools and the boys’ teams from Bridgeland, Cypress Springs and Cypress Lakes high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.

The District 20-6A and District 16-6A water polo seasons ended on Oct. 2 with 16 CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.

The Cy-Fair High School Band earned second place at the Bands Of America North Houston Regional on Sept. 28 at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe.
