March 12, 2025—The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) held its 28th annual Salute to the Stars Gala in honor of CFISD’s 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year honorees March 6 at the Berry Center.
March 7, 2025—District 17-6A girls’ basketball coaches recently released the 2024-2025 All-District 17-6A Girls’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.
March 5, 2025—The Cy-Fair High School swimming and diving teams won the KHOU Chevy Spotlight Award on Feb. 27 during a ceremony at the campus.
March 4, 2025—More than 125 million sets of eyes were on Cy-Fair High School alumnus Braden Mann and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles as they won Super Bowl LIX, including his mom, Hamilton Middle School teacher Pam Mann, who was right there to see her son become a world champion.

Feb. 27, 2025—Two CFISD simmers placed in the top three, and 10 others placed in the top 25 at the UIL Swimming and Diving Class 6A State Meet, held Feb. 21-22 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.
Feb. 27, 2025—CFISD’s winners in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) School Art Program were announced after going through multiple rounds of judging.
Feb. 27, 2025—The CFISD human resources department invites prospective employees interested in becoming a part of an exciting future with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD to attend the districtwide Career Fair, set for April 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 3:45 p.m.) at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road).
Feb. 17, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A boys’ basketball seasons ended on Feb. 12, with seven CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.
Feb. 14, 2025—The 11th Superintendent’s Fun Run is scheduled for March 29 from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road) and Towne Lake community.
Feb. 13, 2025—More than 70 CFISD athletes signed letters of intent to play collegiate athletics for colleges and universities on Spring Signing Day, Feb. 5.
Feb. 13, 2025—Twelve CFISD athletes in 12 total events qualified for the UIL Swimming and Diving Championships following the Region V-6A Championships, held Feb. 6-8 at the CFISD Natatorium. CFISD athletes claimed four regional titles overall.
Feb. 11, 2025—The Langham Creek High School girls’ and the Cypress Ranch High School boys’ wrestling teams earned the district championship title at the District 10-6A Championships, held Jan. 30-31 at the Berry Center.
Feb. 11, 2025—More than 150 CFISD student athletic trainers were named to the Academic All-District 16-6A and District 17-6A teams for fall sports.
Feb. 10, 2025—More than 265 CFISD water polo athletes qualified for the Academic All-District 16-6A and 20-6A water polo teams.
Feb. 10, 2025—More than 195 CFISD fall student-athletes qualified for the Academic All-District 16-6A and 17-6A team tennis teams.

Feb. 7, 2025—The Cypress Ranch High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams claimed the District 18-6A titles at the district meets, held Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the CFISD Natatorium.
Feb. 6, 2025—The CFISD community generously supported student projects at the 31st Annual CFISD Livestock Show Association Show and Sale, held Jan. 30-Feb. 1 at the CFISD Exhibit Center.
Feb. 4, 2025—Approximately 180 CFISD volleyball players were recently named to the Academic All-District 16-6A and 17-6A volleyball teams.
Jan. 31, 2025—More than 220 student athletes were recently named to the Academic All-District 16-6A and 17-6A cross country teams.
Jan. 24, 2025—CFISD has earned the Texas Thespians Premier Communities for Theatre Education Award for the second consecutive year.
Jan. 24, 2025—The Cy-Fair High School Best Buddies program received a $10,000 donation from the Pink Bows Foundation on Jan. 14 in honor of former Cy-Fair student Madison Dubiski.
Jan. 24, 2025—Forty-five CFISD high school music students recently earned All-State honors through the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) audition process.
Jan. 16, 2025—Cypress Park High School senior Nicole Lee is among the top 3% of students nationwide to earn the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Premier Distinction Degree, which is the highest degree a student can earn as a member of the NSDA Honor Society. Lee joins Cy-Fair High School senior Avery McSwain and Jersey Village High School seniors Charlie Barry, Jason Brown and Joscelin Topete in attaining the honor.

Dec. 17, 2024—More than 140 CFISD high school theatre arts students received superior ratings at the 2024 Texas Thespian Festival, held Nov. 15-18 in Corpus Christi and Nov. 20-23 in Grapevine.
Dec. 9, 2024—Seven CFISD athletes signed letters of intent to play collegiate athletics on National Signing Day, Dec. 4.
Dec. 6, 2024—Eighteen CFISD water polo athletes earned All-Region honors and accolades for the 2024-2025 school year from the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (TISCA).
Dec. 4, 2024—Fifty-two CFISD water polo athletes earned Academic All-State honors and accolades for the 2024-2025 school year from the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).
Dec. 3, 2024—CFISD basketball coaches have released the finalized bracket for the 15th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational, to be held Dec. 12-14 at three CFISD high schools and the Berry Center.
Dec. 2, 2024—District 17-6A coaches selected the All-District 17-6A volleyball teams following the conclusion of each team’s 2024 season.
Nov. 26, 2024—The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) named CFISD a 2024 District of Distinction award winner, marking the fourth time the district has earned the prestigious designation. CFISD is among only 96 districts in the state to earn this award.
Nov. 15, 2024—Fifty CFISD athletes joined others across the country in signing letters of intent to participate in collegiate athletics during the early signing period, which started on Nov. 13.
Nov. 13, 2024—CFISD ended its football season claiming two outright district championship and qualifying six teams to the UIL Class 6A bi-district playoffs.
Nov. 11, 2024—Three CFISD high school students were selected to perform with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band in the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Nov. 7, 2024—The Bridgeland, Cypress Ranch and Cy-Fair high school volleyball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while Cypress Woods and Jersey Village high schools concluded their seasons.
Nov. 5, 2024—The Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high school marching bands will represent CFISD for the third consecutive year at the UIL State Marching Contest after being among the four ensembles selected to advance from the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest, held Nov. 2 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.
Nov. 4, 2024—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A volleyball seasons ended on Oct. 29 with five CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL Class 6A playoffs.
Oct. 24, 2024—Twenty-three CFISD students have been cast in the Houston Repertoire Ballet’s 26th annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring professional guest artists Léa Fleytoux as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Jake Roxander as the Cavalier, both of the American Ballet Theatre.
District 16-6A water polo coaches recently released the 2024 All-District 16-6A Water Polo Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.
The Bridgeland High School girls’ and boys’ cross country teams won the District 16-6A titles at the Cross Country Championships, held Oct. 11 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. For the Bridgeland boys and girls, this is their sixth and seventh consecutive team championships, respectively. Bridgeland’s cross country programs are currently ranked No. 3 in the state by the Country Coaches Association of Texas.
Eleven CFISD water polo teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while the girls’ teams from Langham Creek and Cypress Lakes high schools and the boys’ teams from Bridgeland, Cypress Springs and Cypress Lakes high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.
The District 20-6A and District 16-6A water polo seasons ended on Oct. 2 with 16 CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.
The Cy-Fair High School Band earned second place at the Bands Of America North Houston Regional on Sept. 28 at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe.
Parents with children enrolled in bilingual or ESL classes at CFISD schools who want to learn English are invited to enroll in district-offered ESL classes for parents. The free classes are offered for three levels of English proficiency: Introduction, Beginner or Intermediate. Registration will take place at the school cafeterias on the first day of class.
