Cypress Falls High School senior Berry Rojas won a Gold Medal for their Photography piece titled “No Work, All Play” through the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

April 16, 2025—Thirteen CFISD high school students won national Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Honorable Mention awards in the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
More than 100,000 students submitted nearly 300,000 works of art and writing for the 2025 Scholastic Awards. Only 2,800 pieces received a National Medal. The national competition was judged by more than 200 art and writing professionals who volunteered their time.
The following CFISD Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Honorable Mention winners are:
- Cypress Woods High School senior Daanya Khalid – Gold Medal and New York Life Award for her Drawing & Illustration piece titled “Connected to You”
- Cypress Woods senior Eleri Young – Gold Medal and American Visions Medal for her Photography piece titled “Displaced”
- Cypress Creek High School senior Julia Kovacs – Gold Medal for her Mixed Media piece titled “London Look”
- Cypress Falls High School senior Berry Rojas – Gold Medal for their Photography piece titled “No Work, All Play”
- Cypress Ranch High School sophomore Evan Williams – Gold Medal for his Photography piece titled “Twilight Zone”
- Cypress Woods junior Evan Lorenzo – Gold Medal for his Mixed Media piece titled “Great Expectations”
- Bridgeland High School sophomore Anaya Kabir – Silver Medal for her Poetry piece titled “Between Two Worlds: A Home Of My Own”
- Bridgeland junior Bolin Xiang – Silver Medal for her Ceramics & Glass piece titled “Tides of Consequence”
- Cypress Ranch senior Gideon Smith – Silver Medal for his Science Fiction & Fantasy piece titled “A Brief Rumination of Professor Edgar P. Wright”
- Cypress Ranch sophomore Alexis Hughes – Silver Medal for her Photography piece titled “What Is This?”
- Cy-Fair High School senior Ravine Cohen – Honorable Mention for her Art Portfolio entry titled “Cultural Duality”
National winners will be recognized at Carnegie Hall in New York City in June.
