Bridgeland, Cypress Falls win district titles; six football teams enter playoffs

Nov. 13, 2024—CFISD ended its football season claiming two outright district championship and qualifying six teams to the UIL Class 6A bi-district playoffs.

Cypress Falls High School finished 7-0 in District 17-6A to claim an undefeated district title. In District 16-6A, Bridgeland High School finished 7-0 to claim the league championship.

Cypress Woods High School, Cypress Springs High School and Cypress Ranch High School each finished the district football season with a 5-2 in-district record.

Bridgeland and Cypress Ranch will be 16-6A’s Division I representatives, while Cypress Woods and Cypress Springs will participate in the Division II-6A bracket.

In 17-6A, Cy-Fair High School finished one game behind Cypress Falls with a 6-1 District record. Spring Branch ISD’s Stratford and Memorial high schools finished in third and fourth place, respectively.

Cypress Falls and Cy-Fair will be 17-6A’s Division I representatives.

Cypress Springs High School finished the 16-6A district season with a 5-2 in-district record. The Panthers will meet Tomball on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Tomball Stadium.

The following bi-district playoff matchups are set up for this week:

·         Bridgeland will play Klein Oak on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);

·         Cypress Woods will meet Klein Collins on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium;

·         Cypress Springs will play Tomball on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Tomball Stadium (20235 Cypress Rosehill Road);

·         Cypress Ranch will meet Klein Cain on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Klein Memorial Stadium (16607 Stuebner Airline Road);

·         Cypress Falls will play Houston Bellaire on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road); and

·         Cy-Fair will meet Houston Lamar on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Butler Stadium (13755 Main St.).

All tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for students in advance and $10 starting at noon on gameday. Tickets for CFISD hosted games are available through the CFISD hometown ticketing website.

For Cypress Springs’ road playoff game at Tomball ISD Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Tomball ISD.

For Cy-Fair’s road playoff game at Butler Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Houston ISD.
