Bridgeland runners crowned 2024 District 16-6A cross country champs
The Bridgeland High School girls’ cross country team won the District 16-6A title on Oct. 11 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. The Bears have won seven straight district team championships and will compete at the Class 6A Region II Cross Country Championships on Oct. 21 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.

Oct. 17, 2024—The Bridgeland High School girls’ and boys’ cross country teams won the District 16-6A titles at the Cross Country Championships, held Oct. 11 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. For the Bridgeland boys and girls, this is their sixth and seventh consecutive team championships, respectively. Bridgeland’s cross country programs are currently ranked No. 3 in the state by the Country Coaches Association of Texas.   

In District 17-6A, the Cy-Fair High School girls and the Cypress Creek High School boys were the top-finishing teams among CFISD schools at the District 17-6A Cross Country Championships, held Oct. 8 at Spring Creek Park.

The Bridgeland High School boys’ cross country team won the District 16-6A title on Oct. 11 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. The Bears have won six straight district team championships and will compete at the Class 6A Region II Cross Country Championships on Oct. 21 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.

The top three teams and 10 individuals in each race advance to the regional championships. The Class 6A Region II Cross Country championships will be held Oct. 21 at Lynn Creek Park Grand Prairie. The Class 6A Region III Cross Country Championships will be held Oct. 21 at Kate Barr Ross Park in Huntsville.

The Bridgeland girls took seven out of the top 10 spots, earning 15 points. The Bears finished in front of runner-up Cypress Ranch High School (66) and third place Cypress Woods High School (90).

The Bridgeland boys took six out of the top 10 spots, earning the team 18 points. Cypress Ranch High School placed second (71), followed by Cypress Springs placing third (90).
