Cypress Ranch wins district swimming championships
The Cypress Ranch High School boys’ swim team won the District 18-6A team championship, winning with 191 points.
Feb. 7, 2025—The Cypress Ranch High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams claimed the District 18-6A titles at the district meets, held Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the CFISD Natatorium.
The Cypress Ranch boys won with a score of 191, followed by runner-up Bridgeland High School (148) and third place Cypress Lakes High School (51). The Cypress Ranch girls placed first with a score of 192.5, Bridgeland placed second with 154.5 points and Cypress Lakes placed third with 49 points.
The Cypress Ranch High School girls’ swim team won the District 18-6A team championship, winning with 192.5 points.
Cypress Ranch Head Coach Richard Carnicle was named District 18-6A’s Girls’ Coach of the Meet, while Cypress Lakes Head Coach Dylan Neumann was named District 18-6A’s Boys’ Coach of the Meet.
Bridgeland senior Haasini Prabhakar was named the 18-6A’s Girls’ Swimmer of the Meet and fellow Bridgeland teammate sophomore Jackson Hartzler was named the 18-6A Boys’ Swimmer of the Meet. Cypress Ranch sophomore Addison Combs was named 18-6A’s Girls’ Diver of the Meet.
Bridgeland High School senior Haasini Prabhakar was named the District 18-6A Girls’ Swimmer of the Meet.
In District 17-6A, The Cypress Woods High School boys placed third overall with a score of 81, making the Wildcats the highest-placing CFISD boys’ team. The Cy-Fair High School girls placed third overall with a score of 122, making the Bobcats the highest-placing girls’ team.
Cypress Woods junior Adam Speedie was named the District 17-6A Boys’ Swimmer of the Meet.
Bridgeland High School sophomore Jackson Hartzler was named the District 18-6A Boys’ Swimmer of the Meet.
The top six individuals and relays (listed below) advance to the regional competition, to be held Feb. 6-8 at the CFISD Natatorium.
