Cy-Fair HS marching band advances to Class 6A state finals
The Cy-Fair High School marching band competed at the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championships on Nov. 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Bobcats advanced to the Finals Round and will perform at 3 p.m. on Nov. 4. The 2025 contest is the ninth overall and fourth consecutive state bid for the program.

Nov. 3, 2025—The Cy-Fair High School marching band advanced to the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championship Finals Round after preliminary competition on Nov. 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Cy-Fair, along with Bridgeland and Cypress Woods high schools, gave CFISD three state participants for the fifth consecutive year.

Cy-Fair will perform its show, “Flicker” at 3 p.m. on Nov. 4.

“I’m incredibly proud of our three CFISD bands that competed today in the prelims of the UIL State Marching Band Contest,” said John Morrison, CFISD director of fine arts. “The students from Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods were outstanding representatives of our Cypress-Fairbanks community. Congratulations to the Cy-Fair High School band on advancing to the finals competition Tuesday.”

The Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods marching bands advanced and competed at the state contest after placing among the top five at the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest on Oct. 27 at Katy ISD Legacy Stadium. The 2025 state contest marks the sixth consecutive state bid for both Bridgeland and Cypress Woods and the seventh overall appearance for the Cypress Woods program. Cy-Fair advanced to state for the ninth time in program history and the fourth consecutive year.
