Oct. 30, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A volleyball seasons ended on Oct. 24 with five CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL Class 6A playoffs.
Cypress Ranch High School posted a 13-1 record to earn the District 16-6A title for the fifth consecutive year. Also advancing from District 16-6A are Bridgeland and Cypress Woods high schools. Cypress Woods finished second with a 12-2 record, while Bridgeland finished third with an 11-3 record. Langham Creek and Waller high schools both posted a 7-7 district record and competed in a play-in game on Oct. 27. Waller defeated Langham Creek to take District 16-6A’s fourth seed.

Cypress Woods High School senior Savannah Nelson helped lead the Wildcats to a 12-2 record in District 16-6A, earning the second playoff seed. Cypress Woods will play Magnolia at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Cypress Creek High School.
In District 17-6A, Cy-Fair and Jersey Village high schools are advancing to the postseason. Jersey Village finished with a 9-5 record, claiming the third seed, while Cy-Fair posted an 8-6 record to claim the fourth seed.
Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods and Bridgeland will enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:
- Cypress Ranch will face Tomball Memorial at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Waller High School (31213 Waller Spring Creek Road)
- Cypress Woods will play Magnolia at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road)
- Bridgeland will meet Klein Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road)

Bridgeland High School senior Brooklyn Barrow helped the Bears post an 11-3 record in District 16-6A, earning the third playoff seed. Bridgeland will meet Klein Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Klein Cain High School.
Jersey Village and Cy-Fair will enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:
- Jersey Village will face Houston Lamar at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Delmar Stadium (2020 Mangum Road)
- Cy-Fair will play Houston Bellaire at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Delmar Stadium
Tickets for Cypress Ranch and Bridgeland are $6 each for adults and students and are sold online. Tickets for Cypress Woods are $5 each for adults and students and are sold online. Tickets for Jersey Village and Cy-Fair are $5 each for adults and students.
