Soccer postseason begins for 10 CFISD teams

March 19, 2026—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A soccer seasons recently concluded, with the top four boys’ and girls’ teams from each district qualifying for the UIL playoffs that begin March 19.  

In 16-6A, Bridgeland High School claimed the girls’ championship, finishing with a 12-2 district record to head into the postseason. Cypress Woods High School finished second with a 12-1-1 district record with Cypress Ranch High School finishing third with an 8-3-3 district record. Cypress Lakes High School claimed the district’s fourth seed with a 7-5-2 record.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Bridgeland will meet Klein Oak at 7:30 p.m. on March 20 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road)
  • Cypress Woods will play Tomball Memorial at 7 p.m. on March 20 at Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road)
  • Cypress Ranch will face Klein at 7 p.m. on March 20 at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd)
  • Cypress Lakes will clash with Tomball at 7 p.m. on March 20 at Tomball ISD Stadium (20235 Cypress Rose Hill Road)
The Langham Creek High School boys’ soccer team earned District 16-6A’s third seed after posting a 7-5-2 district record. The Lobos will meet Magnolia West at 5:30 p.m. on March 20 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.

On the boys’ side, Bridgeland claimed the District 16-6A championship with a 12-1-1 district record. Cypress Lakes finished with a 7-4-3 record to claim the district’s second seed, while Langham Creek High School posted a 7-5-2 record to claim the third seed. Cypress Woods finished with a 6-4-4 record to finish fourth.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Cypress Lakes will play Tomball at 7 p.m. on March 20 at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway)
  • Langham Creek will clash with Magnolia West at 5:30 p.m. on March 20 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.
  • Cypress Woods will face Klein Oak at 7 p.m. on March 19 at Klein Oak High School (22603 Northcrest Drive)

In District 17-6A, the Cy-Fair High School girls placed third with a 10-3-1 record. Spring Branch ISD’s Stratford, Memorial and Northbrook high schools claimed the remaining District 17-6A seeds.

In the bi-district round, Cy-Fair will play Houston Bellaire at 6 p.m. on March 19 at HISD’s Butler Stadium (13755 S Main Street)

On the boys’ side, the Jersey Village High School boys’ placed third with a 6-6-2 record. Spring Branch ISD’s Stratford, Memorial and Northbrook high schools claimed the remaining District 17-6A seeds.

In the bi-district round, Jersey Village will face Houston Lamar at 6 p.m. on March 20 at HISD’s Delmar Stadium (2020 Mangum Road)
